Opening up global pre-orders

September was a crazy month for Teasan: we landed our first-ever wholesale account and hit our highest revenue yet, without a single pop-up! Until now we'd relied heavily on pop-ups, so this is a small ‘yay’ moment for us.

Most of that revenue came from pre-orders, and most of those came from you, since this list was the first place I opened them up. Thank you so much for being such an early supporter of Teasan. It really means the world to us.

It wasn't all smooth sailing, though. Some of you had to message us asking what happened to your order, and a few asked for a refund if the tea wasn't coming. I felt terrible, because it felt like I'd let down the people who trusted Teasan to deliver.

What happened was that we got more pre-orders than expected and ran short on some ingredients and packaging, so we had to wait for restocks from Japan. Then I hand-blended every single tea bag, which took even longer. I need a better operating system to deliver your teas in a timely manner. I’m sorry, and I’ll do better moving forward.

Pre-orders now run in weekly batches with a Friday cutoff, so you'll always know when your tea is ready.

And I want to take on another challenge. Until now, pre-orders were basically a secret for this list only, so anyone who found the Teasan website on their own couldn't buy anything.

So I've decided to open up pre-orders to everyone, globally!

This is the most public Teasan has ever been. About half the people we reach on social media are outside Singapore, so now they can finally try the teas we keep talking about.

I'm heading to Japan again next week, so this is your last chance to get tea before I go. Pre-orders placed by this Friday (Oct 9) will be shipped before I leave. Anything after that will go out in November.
